In oil refining and petrochemical plants, there are thousands of pumps installed. The pumps have sealing parts where rotating and stationary components coexist, and wear inevitably occurs there. Additionally, various phenomena such as fretting wear, galling, and cavitation occur in the rotating components. Furthermore, depending on the type of liquid, such as acetic acid, sulfuric acid, or hydrochloric acid, corrosion can be very severe, making corrosion treatment essential. Kurashiki Boring has been involved in maintenance operations at the Mizushima Complex for many years and has provided solutions through thermal spraying and machining to address the challenges mentioned above.

Following the repair results, we received a request for the production of spare parts. We completed the entire process from pickup, preparation, thermal spraying, finishing, to delivery within a short period of 7 days. Compared to S45C, the wear amount is less, resulting in improved wear resistance!!

Ceramic thermal spraying (chromium oxide) is a surface treatment suitable for product modification. By thermal spraying and polishing the worn areas, mainly on shafts and sleeves, dimensional restoration and wear resistance can be improved! If you want to use shafts and sleeves for a long time but are troubled by wear... and find it wasteful to remake the products... For those people, definitely consider thermal spray repair (chromium oxide) for dimensional restoration and wear countermeasures! Since the coating is porous, the oil from the oil seal penetrates internally, improving sliding properties, and there is a proven track record of use in oil seal areas.
